At first i thought Kishi brought itachi back so when he failes to kill kabuto and his trump card we can get an awesome reflection of itachi just like when jiraiya died. But now without his trump card I doubt he’s going to be able to win against itachi.
Black Zetsu is just another diversion to keep some of the shinobis busy.. the mizukage and some skilled shinobi are protecting the daimyo’s.. If Madara would killed or capture them, he could have either caused a huge chaos, because the daimyos own the shinobi pretty much, so there would be a huge gap in the command chain. IF naruto and bee would have stayed hidden, madara could have tried to negotiate to trade the remaining jinchuriki for the daimyos.
