I've always found it ridiculous that Naruto was given his mother's name in order to 'protect him', when it's the Uzumaki who were feared widely for their powers, mysteriously had their country demolished, and scattered across the globe.
It would be like Haku's parents painting a sign on his forehead at birth that says I CAN USE ICE JUTSU; PERSECUTE ME PLZ. Naming him after his father and telling him who his parents were wouldn't have hindered him at all in life, it only would have made it mountains easier for him.
